One Great River’s Mission is to engage youth in experiential education that develops healthy lifestyles, meaningful relationships, a resilient mindset, and prepares them for successful living in a multi-cultural society.

One Great River is an innovative project that links years of successful program practice with recent findings from scientific prevention research. The project was developed in 1991, by Mothers Against Drugs of Louisiana, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, which had conducted nationally recognized, award winning prevention programs locally and nationally, since 1981. One Great River is funded by private contributions, fees-for service and project grants.
